CAHOCON 2018 in Chennai on April 7-8

The Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO), a not for profit institution with the goal to boost healthcare quality by promoting collaboration between hospitals and labs accredited with NABH, NABL and JCI, has announced that its fourth international conference called CAHOCON 2018 will be held in Chennai on April 7 and 8.

 

More than 600 national and international delegates, including healthcare leaders and policy makers, will attend the two-day conclave and deliberate on this year’s chosen theme of “Timely Intervention is the Key to Quality” through back-to-back sessions and workshops on both the days.

A scientific exhibition and an awards presentation ceremony will be a part of the event. Research presentations, posters, panel discussions and pre-event workshops and master-classes would be the other highlights. Interesting projects implemented in various Chennai hospitals on energy efficiency, 5S implementation, lab-on-chip, etc. will be showcased. Key sessions will deliberate upon topics like, Is healthcare sustainable in the present context, Key learnings from other industries, Is marketing a hospital ethical, Medical education, Handling medical negligence, Equity and quality in healthcare, Importance of timely intervention, and the Costing of procedures.

 

Prominent speakers include, Dr. Preetha Reddy, Executive Director, Apollo Hospitals; Dr. Dinesh Arora, Director, Ayushman Bharat; Mr. Alok Saraogi, Chief Innovation Officer, Ashok Leyland; Dr. GSK Velu, Founder & Chairman, Neuberg Diagnostics; Dr. Murali Srinivas, Chief - Medical Services, Manipal; Dr. Antony Basile, Medical Director, Star Hospital, Hyderabad, Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS (Delhi); Dr. JV Peter, Director, CMC, Vellore; and Dr. Pradeep Kumar Vyas, Principal Secretary – Health Services, Govt. of Maharashtra.

 

The sessions have engaging themes with insightful speakers. While Dr. Preetha Reddy, Executive Director, Apollo Hospitals, will speak on "Will healthcare sustain its nobility and ethos?" Dr. Dinesh Arora, Director, Ayushman Bharat, will discuss the impact on Modicare on Indian healthcare. Dr. GSK Velu, Founder & Chairman of Neuberg Diagnostics will speak about next-generation diagnostics. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Vyas, Principal Secretary-Health Services, Govt. of Maharashtra, will recount the ingredients for crafting a success story in healthcare. Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS (Delhi), will speak about mentoring the doctors. Dr. JV Peter, Director of CMC, Vellore, will explain why merely giving hope in clinical care is not communication.

 

Awards will be given at CAHO 2018 to recognize excellence in various categories. Lifetime Achiever Award and ‘Young Quality Achiever Award’ will be presented to honour substantial work in the field of healthcare quality.
