Fortis Malar and Round Table International join hands

Fortis Malar Hospital today announced its association with Round Table - MART 100, MMRT 3, MMLC 4 to further strengthen the ecosystem that supports underprivileged children with heart ailments. The partnership aims to enhance the accessibility of cardio healthcare for children belonging to the weaker section of the society by eliminating cost barriers.

 

“Socio economic status should never be the barrier when it comes to accessing quality healthcare. Through this initiative, our mission is to make quality paediatric cardiac care accessible to poor children who are suffering from heart disease,” said Dr. K R Balakrishnan, Director – Cardiac Science, Fortis Malar and an internationally renowned Indian Cardiac Transplant surgeon. “In this era of rising healthcare costs and increase in paediatric heart ailments, I am confident that this association with Round Table International will enable us to save more little hearts and secure the future generation.”

 

Established as one of the largest corporate hospitals in Chennai, Fortis Malar will offer comprehensive paediatric cardiac treatment including pre and post transplant for under privileged children. With its presence in every continent around the world, Round Table International will offer financial support to these needy children.

 

Commenting on the initiative, Chairperson Prachi Shah (MMLC4) Representative from the Round Table and Ladies Circle Fraternity said “we are a community service based and non profit organization that is committed to serve and support underprivileged children with congenital heart defect by providing funds for heart surgeries”. Chairman Satish Mehta (MART100), said “ we believe every child with CHD deserves a chance and no parent should loose a child because they cannot afford the treatment for heart surgery and we are delighted to be rolling out this initiative in Tamil Nadu especially with Fortis Malar which has been providing quality super specialty and multi-specialty healthcare services and the only hospital in South-East Asia to have conducted over 150 successful heart transplants and to people across the globe.”

Children below poverty line, who have tncm insurance and children from financially underprivileged families will be eligible for this scheme.
