Actor Aari said, “First and foremost, there happens to be a special mention marked upon director Ayyappan, who despites his hard work limited himself with few words. Abhilash will not alone stand out to be a finest actor but a filmmaker as well for he knows the nuance of each and every department. I have seen Leema as a child artiste from the time of Rettai Suzhi and am happy to see that she has now debuted as heroine..”
The actor continued to speak out on he issues of Gaja Cyclone and expressed his views on solution regarding the issue.
Actor Abhilash said, “Despites being a child artiste, I had to go in search of many production houses and directors. I didn’t have any support as I don’t belong to a family of film background. Now that I am being introduced as a hero through this film, I would like to tell that many newcomers have got opportunity to work in this film. There have been lots of emotional moments during the shoot of this film. Director Ayyappan had to be there for the delivery of his wife which was caesarean. But he remained on the shooting spot and completed it without cancelling the shooting. There was another incident, where one of the actor’s father passed away. But he stayed back and completed the entire shoot saying that all throughout life, his father wanted to see his son as an actor. The film will definitely give an experience of watching a decent entertainer with good message.”
Director Ayyappan said, “Everyone who heard the script gave me lots of confidence and encouragement. The film is about a group of friends in a village who simultaneously play both cricket and Kabadi. At a particular point of time, they have to decide to play one among them. Actors Abhilash and Leema have exerted best efforts into the film. Especially for Leema who was initially reluctant to take up this offer. But soon after hearing the script, she got so much impressed and didn’t want to miss it.”
Samuel said, “At this point of time where sports are getting diminished with its prominence, I am happy to see that movies like Dhoni Kabadi Kuzhu are being made. I am sure this film will be a good inspiration for everyone.”
Director Mauruthu Pandian of Asuravadham fame said, “The film reminisces of my childhood memories of my school days. I am sure Dhoni Kabadi Kuzhu will definitely be a refreshing experience of memory down the lane journey for everyone.”
Music Director C.M. Mahendran who has given background score for this film said, “I am really privileged to be a part of this film and thank director Ayyappan and actor Abhilash for giving me an opportunity to work in this film. Both of them approached me to compose BGM even before the dubbing was over. I am hopefully looking forward to the reception for this film.”
Filmmaker Sriram of DOO movie fame said, “What I liked about the film’s trailer that we all saw now is that it didn’t have a single smoking or drinking scene. Also there are few dialogues in the film that are completely appreciable. I am confident that Dhoni Kabadi Kuzhu will have its blissful results.”
Actor CN Prabhakaran said, “Usually there’s saying that directors are Captains of the ship, but director Ayyappan is a one man army, who has done a great job offering a good content. During these days, where most of the films are majorly churned out for commercial values, filmmaker Ayyappan stands out to be an exceptional one in presenting a good content.”
Music director Roshan Jacob said, “First of all I would like to thank producer S Nandagopal for giving me a chance to be a part of this film. DKK will have a good message that will be definitely find its warm reception across all sectors of audiences.”
Actress Leema said, “Just as the film’s title, even the film will definitely have offer a different and unique experience to all. I happened to gain a good knowledge about Kabadi while shooting for this film.”
National award winning actor Appukutty said, “Kabadi happens to be the game that has been making our country prouder than cricket. I know how difficult it is to make a film based on this game. Personally, I have experienced it while working in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu. Actor Abhilash has been aspiring to give his best in film industry from his young age. Now I am elated to see that his dreams are coming true now. All that I can say is that Cricket is a luxurious game and Kabadi happens to be a poor man ‘S game for it doesn’t need any materials to play. There are lots of challenges involved in the game of Kabadi and I am requesting Government to encourage it .”
