One of the main factors for any movie to reach the audience effectively and become a hit is its strong supporting characters and the effectiveness with which the actors play it. TARAMANI, latest declared super hit, had some memorable characters which has been lapped up and celebrated by the audience. Azhagam Perumal, who played 'Barnabas', a railway cop has been receiving enormorous response for his characterisation and his realistic, soulful performance. 

Speaking about this, Azhagam Perumal says, "This has been one of the best roles of my acting career. Was so happy to see the clarity with which director Ram has etched all the characters and has conveyed this bold story. When he narrated my role to me I never thought it would be so solid and my scenes would be so strongly received by the audience. Only after watching the movie I could see see what Ram had in his mind for this movie. It was such a pleasure working with Ram following Katrathu Thamizh where again i played a role called Boopala Rayar and it is still remembered by many audience.I thank Director Ram  whole heartedly for the wonderful character he gave me" summed up Azhagam Perumal as he gears up for more and more challenging character roles.
